The Birth of Reason: From Mythos to Logos

Before we had science, we had monsters. Come find out how we killed them with logic.

We invite you...

To step out of your comfort zone… Or stay comfortably inside it. Honestly, we aren’t here to tell you what to do. Come watch the speakers, let the barista spoil you, and experience the workshops. Whatever you are looking for, we’ve got it. Not looking for anything? F*ck it! That’s fine too. Just come and enjoy the vibe.

WE INVITE YOU TO JOING OUR NEXT CONNECT-IT EVENT.

We are switching gears. You asked for more depth, so we are traveling back to the source. This afternoon, we explore the fundamental shift from Mythos (stories of Gods) to Logos (logical reasoning). Why did Western philosophy originate in Ancient Greece? What were the specific “ingredients” that allowed them to build the foundation of the modern world? This might sound vast, but we promise: no dry lectures. We are breaking this journey down into bite-sized proportions so everyone can follow along, debate, and connect the dots between ancient myths and modern thought.

Where: Brandpunt, Breda
When: Sunday, February 1st — 12:30 (Welcome) 13:00 (Start Event) to 16:00 Price: €10,-
Language: English (open-minded Dutchies welcome)

Includes: Good coffee, deep questions, and a fresh perspective on history

Did you know:

''

Thales, the “first philosopher,” was so busy looking at the stars he fell into a well.

''

The Oracle of Delphi (who predicted the future) was likely just breathing in hallucinogenic gases from the earth.

''

The word Mythos simply means “Story” or “Word.” It wasn’t originally about lies; it was about meaning.

''

The word “School” comes from the Greek word Schole, which actually means “Leisure.”

''

The Ancient Greeks had no sacred text. Their “religion” was a mix of poetry, ritual, and local gossip.
